Choose a Haircut for a Round Face
If your face is wide as it is long, you have a round face and need to choose a haircut to complement it. Contrary to what some think, this is not a "fat" face and has nothing to do with weight. Women with round faces need to select a haircut that will make her face look thinner and longer. Actress Drew Barrymore has a classic round face. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Determine if your face is indeed a round shape by looking at yourself in the mirror and drawing an outline of your face with lipstick. Step back and check out the shape.
2. Choose either a long or short haircut, depending on your preference. Longer hair is a good choice because it adds length under your chin. A haircut that is chin length will make your face look even rounder.
3. Add height to your haircut with layers that give lift at the crown. Backcombing your roots can also give some lift. For more height, use a mousse or spray that adds volume.
4. Put long hair up on top of your head, but let some loose tendrils dangle by your face. A high ponytail with softly flowing ringlets can be a good choice for the round face.
5. Curl or spike your short haircut. This will decrease the round face while giving the illusion of a longer face.
6. Highlight hair around your face to slenderize the round shape.
