Fireworks at the Magic Kingdom
If you are planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resorts and will have eight or more people traveling with you, you will want to take advantage of Disney's Grand Gatherings. Grand Gatherings vacations offer you and everyone in your party exclusive deals, special events and activities during your stay at one of the Disney resorts. There are many reasons to book a Grand Gatherings vacation, including reunions, birthday celebrations, anniversary celebrations or just having a big family that wants to go on vacation. No matter what the reason, Walt Disney World Resorts will be able to help you with your vacation planning and needs.
Instructions
1. Make room reservations through Walt Disney World. Book vacation reservations for Grand Gatherings by calling a Grand Gatherings travel planner at 407-939-7526. Choose which Disney resort you and your family would like to stay at. Disney requires that at least 80 percent of your Grand Gatherings party be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort. Though it may be more fun to stay at the same resort, you and the other members of your Grand Gatherings group can choose to stay at different Disney resorts.
2. Let Disney Reservations know you want to be part of a Grand Gatherings Experience. You and your family can select events that are planned just for your Grand Gatherings. The reservation assistant will go through all of the reservations and give you a Grand Gatherings code to use when booking events for your group. This code will identify each reservation as part of a Grand Gatherings vacation.
3. Plan and book space for the events of your Grand Gatherings vacation. Some exclusive events include the International Dinner and Illuminations Dessert Reception at Epcot's Odyssey Restaurant, a Safari Celebration Dinner at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park's Kilimanjaro Safari ride and the Grand Gatherings Morning with Mickey and Friends at the Magic Kingdom Park. Theme park admission is required to be able to take part in these events. Grand Gatherings experiences can be booked as early as 180 days in advance and no later than three days prior to your arrival.
4. Plan and book activities for your group in advance. Dining and recreational reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance and should be made as soon as possible. Other activities at the Walt Disney World Resorts that can be enjoyed by larger groups include spa services, golfing, fireworks cruises, child activity centers and special VIP tours at the theme parks.
5. Pay all applicable deposits. Room deposits are due within seven days of making the room reservation -- the deposit is equal to the cost of a one-night stay. Grand Gatherings activities and events need to have full payment made no later than 45 days prior to your arrival.
6. Order your Grand Gatherings T-shirt. After you have made your Grand Gatherings vacation plans you can order your special occasion T-shirt from Walt Disney World guest services. T-shirt orders must be placed at least 10 days prior to your party's arrival.
